Hester Sunshine is a Queer Jewish fashion designer and apparel innovator from New York City. Hester’s first fifteen years in the industry were spent working for major brands like Betsey Johnson, Coach, Kate Spade, Hot Topic, and more. This invaluable experience taught them what was wrong within the fashion world—whose voices and whose bodies were being ignored—and they started developing a game plan to change that. 

in 2018 Hester placed runner up on Season 17 of Project Runway with their Y2k0k0 collection, and returned to the Project Runway world again in 2023 for Project Runway Allstars. 

In 2023 Hester launched Hesta, a lifestyle brand highlighting both RTW and custom couture, bringing utilitarian street fashion and innovative, size inclusive design to the apparel world.

In 2023 Hester also opened their first brick and motor shop, known as Hesta, or, the Hestaverse in Bushwick Brooklyn. Currently appointment only, the hope is to be open to the public by 2025!
